Happy ARD!!

The "Chatham Recycles" gang is all a buzz because today is our favorite holiday! That's right, you guessed it, November 15th is AMERICA RECYCLES DAY! This year marks the tenth anniversary of the ongoing effort dedicated to getting Americans to increase their recycling at home and at work. With each passing year more and more people become better informed of the social, economic and environmental benefits of recycling. America Recycles Day coordinators volunteer their time to help organize recycling awareness events in communities across the country. Today, the U.S. recycles 32 percent of its waste, a rate that has doubled during the past 15 years. Americans are starting to catch on, great strides have been made in our effort to reduce waste and make the most of our limited natural resources, but there is still much left to do. Many hands make light work. If we all do our part we can make Chatham a shining example of how recycling can stimulate a community's economy, improve its natural environment and make people proud of where they live. If you are already a dedicated recycler, keep up the good work. If you have been trying to motivate yourself to start recycling, today, November 15th, America Recycles Day, is the perfect day to start!  For more information log on to americarecyclesday.org
